News from Amat

2011 Season

We had another great season with a total bag of 335, the best week was the last week
in May with a haul of 51 and the majority of weeks were in double figures.

The biggest fish was caught in July – a whopper of 44.5lbs landed on the right bank
of the Park Pool!

The weather could have been better, apparently 2011 was the wettest on record for
Scotland and the river was up and down like a yo-yo.

On the plus side we didn’t suffer as badly from the midges.

Petition

We are canvassing support for a Petition to the Minister asking him to review safety in
relation to a Hydro scheme in the Carron headwaters and the possible danger posed by
global warming. Those with experience of the Glen can read the Petition here and, if they
are able to support it, we should be delighted.

(Support by running off a copy of the signature list signing and posting or re-scan and return
e-mail to amatsalmon@btinternet.com Many thanks in advance.)
