mat estate lies in-land from the east coast about 50 miles north of Inverness. The nearest villages are Ardgay (9 miles) and Bonar Bridge (10 miles).

There is an unmanned railway station in Ardgay with two services daily running to Wick and
Thurso in the north and Inverness to the south.
